Travel has been a passion of mine since my first trip to Spain in 2005. My trip to Spain was spent mostly in a hospital due to severe food poisoning but it actually fueled my desire for more adventure. In the last 15 years since that trip I’ve traveled to Italy, Iceland, Mexico, Greece, England, Tanzania, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Ireland, Eqypt, Morocco, India and more!

Along the way I started collecting decor items, but the most interesting and lasting pieces have become textiles. They’re light and easy to pack, they can be found in markets as blankets, pillows, or rugs, dress and sari shops. They can be handmade or printed in factories. They can tell local stories, use local pigments, and support the local economy. They also bring different corners of the world to our homes. They remind us of our travels as home accents. But I can only have so many blankets and rugs in my home. I decided I wanted to share them with others.

In my never ending quest to create, I watched people throw out or discard antiques as home trends have changed. I thought about ways to update old furniture. How can we take our old pieces and make them new? I decided to start picking up pieces that were being discarded, going to thrift stores, Ebay, and other places to find chairs and furniture to play with. I believe that upcycling and reuse is a way that I can help create our own unique beautiful and treasured items, and share the travel and stories of different parts of the world with others.

I use local, trusted friends and vendors to paint, upholster, ship, and transport the pieces. The pieces are all meant to be specialty, bespoke items, like a piece of art meant to tell a story in your home. They may have imperfections, may use the original patina of the furniture found, may have ink imperfections from being handblocked or woven… These are all a part of their story.

I hope you enjoy these pieces - 33 at a time, which are hand selected and created for you!

xx
